- So close! I can do this!
- I’m very tired of Dan’s attention seeking. He makes bad choices, blames everybody else, and then acts surprised when no one likes or trusts him. Get real boy! And all the while Anya and his mum are feeling sorry for him. It’s not hard to just stay in school and study as you’re supposed to🤦🏻‍♀️ he makes out like everything is complicated when it’s so simple.

- At first I was engaged at the naïveté of Anya leaving her shoes outside, obviously someone was going to steal them! But then I realised that if it is a tradition in Poland to leave your shoes outside on that specific night then it must be an unspoken rule there not to steal anyone’s shoes and so I can actually forgive Anya for making this mistake.
- Dan is just so not a bad boy it’s kinda boring!

- Dan calling his life complicated when it’s not is really irritating me. Just stop doing stupid things, ditch the bad friends, and communicate better.
- Literally all of this guy’s “problems” (they’re so minor you can barely call them that) could be solved if he would just be genuine. He shows a different face to everyone and it’s so fake. Anya says she doesn’t like it but still stays🤦🏻‍♀️

- Anya comes across like an alien. Are you from Poland or are you from a utopian communist society? She has no understanding of the concept of popularity or social hierarchy. Or maybe she was the popular kid in Poland who blanked others, so she doesn’t know what it feels like to be on the receiving end.
- It infuriates me how fickle she is. Please have some standards and don’t go about the town in your pyjamas.

- Alone in a park together huddled under an umbrella in the rain… I said to myself if this was a manga then they would kiss in this scene. AND THEN THEY DID! So cliche lol.
- I just don’t get how Dan is a bad boy. Since setting fire to a textbook with someone else’s lighter he has offered to help his mum with her new cafe by standing in the rain, was nice to his younger sibling and to all 4 detention kids too.

- Anya is a snob! She expected to come to this magical beautiful land with a gorgeous cottage house and Hogwarts-like school. Hate to break it to you, but it’s Liverpool. England is a miserable place and they are working class people. Sorry you’re not living in a palace with the rest of your upper class chums! It’s demeaning.
- Dan setting fire to a book and then wearing Angel wings is very inconsistent.
