This feels very adolescent. I mean mostly the jokes. Cat the bimbo, Lombardo the brainless jock and sports fan, the attitude of disenfranchised youth Supergirl has for some reason.

Didn't expect to be this introductory. Everyone is properly introduced, Johns trying his best to make the exposition seem seamless, natural. This far, the structure follows the same beat pattern as an old blockbuster from the 80s; one of the easily forgettable. But the protagonist is Superman.

The Kryptonian military being black berets is funny. Morrison's vision of Krypton being the lost planet of superheroes, their fashion inspiring the odd choice of clothing of Earth's defenders (capes and underwear on the outside) is inspired, it's at least thinking about Krypton's culture. Here, there's no thinking. Krypton is just Earth but with more convenient technology.
