It read like a story, of the discovery of a new theory, a new way of understanding the self. What struck me was that the discovery had actually been made 70 years ago, the papers thereafter ignored. The rise in constructism however is coming from a variety of directions, cognitive philosophy, neuroscience, psychology it is a fascinating journey that I'm enjoying. I'm moving to Clarke's book next.
