The Romans are after John Mark and friends. The scroll is hidden. John Mark is ready to die anyway. He's up there in age.

Chris and Kate are smuggling out Mark's gospel scroll. Chris is an archaeolgist; Kate is an ancient manuscript expert.

John Marks says about himself and Miriam: "Neither of them would live much longer." Only then would they know about resurrection. They had been talking about Jesus's resurrection. Even some of his followers didn't believe it had truly happened.

John Mark prepares to copy the scroll. Miriam, Peter's daughter, reads the beginning of the scroll to Judas. This Judas isn't much like the one in the Bible history I was exposed to.

Chris and Kate visit Maaloula and check out a convent. They're looking for a cave with a connection to John Mark's gospel.

Argument between Chis and Kate about an actual resurrection as opposed to faith. The Mark segments argue that he actual saw Christ raise people from the dead. Why not a resurrection?

Mark is attracted to Miriam,, Peter's daughter. (Not sure Peter was married. Fiction perhaps.)
