Gut wrenching. I’m so attached to these characters. I want to hug Maya, and throw a bomb a the people talking shit. I hate how human this book is.

Fuck. This has become very hard to read. So poignant. Too realistic. Too human. Humanity is broken and frozen. It makes my stomach churn. The scene of Maya and Kevin had me nauseous and was so uncomfortable. The quote by the end of that chapter stuck by me.

Very interesting so far. The characters are compelling and I feel like I know them already and the town itself feels like a character.
