As powerful as this novel is I feel it could have something tying it all together to make me more invested. It’s a long boy and not gonna lie I’m ready to be done with it but still have close to three hours left .. ugh . But it’s a great and important read. Hope that makes sense

Enjoyed the lore of the Windigo… very relevant for today’s world

The three sisters chapter was so splendid. And the teachings of grass. I have always considered myself to ”not enjoy science” and “not be good at science” but maybe that’s the capitalistic academic white science and learning it in this way… I enjoy it. I feel I would “be better at it” food for thought

I wouldn’t say it’s taken me a long time to get into the book but when listening to nonfiction my mind can be easier to wander but today I listened while cleaning and ironing and really appreciated the connection of her making the pond swimmable and the concept of mothering the earth. That was beautiful. Reminds me a bit of Lab Girl.
