I often think of Anne Lamott talking of her father's ethics system: Don't be an asshole & make sure everyone eats. This book exemplifies how feeding people is a powerful political tool -- why the us government put so much effort into destroying the Black Panther food program, food not bombs efforts, etc.
love the stories of these women thus far and how they're used to frame this history
