So it takes a bit of spice for Sarah to loosen up enough to actually write “flipped me off” instead of that wretched “vulgar gesture”? What is wrong with this woman…?

…another “vulgar gesture”? Immediately after a suggestive conversation about licking?! I don’t get this woman… just call a spade a fucking spade will ya, Sarah, and find a different word other than vulgar, ffs.

Is Sarah J Maas totally against descriptions like “flipped the bird” or “gave him the middle finger” or something?
It’s stuff like this that makes this a less enjoyable reading experience, no matter how silly and trivial it might seem. You can’t be afraid to let a character tell another to “f off” with their finger but be ok with spice… or am I just finicky?
