Liking it so far. The plot's more focused this time around and having to mostly revolve around only Caspian allows for stronger character development. Also I'm liking this idea of a "Narnia gone by" much better than the first book's more straightforward depiction of Narnia.

Slightly better than the first, I felt the plot was tighter and the setting more interesting. I liked seeing how the siblings interacted with this Narnia. Also it was a nice introduction to Caspian but then he takes a back seat by the end, where he mostly defers to Peter.

Oddly enough I feel like Aslan is the weakest part of these stories. Once he shows up, all is magically solved which leads to a weaker ending.

"Peter leaned forward, put his arms round the beast and kissed the furry head: it wasn't a girlish thing for him to do, because he was the High King."

Brooo I thought I was gonna be free from the sexist stuff that would pop up randomly in this series, but I guess not.

For the prev book, the one that made me roll my eye the most was the whole "Battles are ugly when women fight."
