So, what would normally not work in a book — many random additions of characters right at the beginning, intense info dumps from dialogue, and generally just lots of science based rambling—is actually quite enjoyable. I’m curious, but not overly confused. It’s amateur writing with brilliance that carries it through.

Charles Dunsmoore’s arc is incredibly unique and created a wonderful narrative moment. I haven’t quite seen a trope like this before—but most of the things in this book are wholly unique.

This book feels incredibly real in so many random ways. There’s so much political and social commentary. The tidbit of a politician realizing the err of his ways because he saw the earth from a spaceship — which is similar to how astronauts change irl.
