Oof that first chapter was rough. The verbiage and choice of words -sentence -stringed together is just distracting and overdone. I get that’s it’s from the 1900s but come on I’ve read other books from the same time period and it was not this difficult and off putting. I don’t know if I’ll be finishing this one.
