there is something kind of jarring about how dark the world feels compared to atla. atla was dark too but in a different way. this feels like real world problems. it's like a bucket of cold water thrown at your neck, because it takes you out of the imaginary world. it would have been different if atla had the same vibe too, but this feels too realistic in comparison

this book took a turn in a way i didn't expect. i thought that yun and kelsang would teach kyoshi but i guess not. the flying opera company (that main girl is now a member in) is like if you combined the cike from the poppy war and gaang from atla. i probably wouldn't have gone to this direction if i had written this book, but i ain't hating. it feels fresh that this isn't going the way i thought it would
