This author is like “this is the most confusing, convoluted war of all time but I will do my best to explain it” and then will have a page long run-on sentence that goes “ok so you have the maronites and the Muslims and the Palestinians and they all hate each other but you also have the Druze and the phalangists (Maronites but evil) and don’t forget the Baathists oh and Israel is there too of course”

Ch 1: gave a little chuckle when the author talked about Maronite Christians in the early 1900s claiming to be Phoenicians and not Arab because I still see these bitches on twitter saying the same thing in 2025. Say whatever you want girl!! The Israeli drone isn’t going to stop and check your 23andMe before they blow up your building!
