Finished part 1. Loving this so far. Reading this alongside Fool Moon, a noir detective fantasy, really makes for an interesting juxtaposition. The world is less grounded but the murder case is more grounded in Tainted Cup and vice versa in Fool Moon. Both MC's are also very very different.

Almost done with part 2. This investigation has turned into something way bigger than expected tbh. I'd figured it would, considering the quickness of chapter 1, but hadn't expected it before starting this read. That said, it's a lot of fun. Wonderfully written with a good protagonist and well written investigator Ana. Reminds me of the Dynamic between Helena and her master in Empire of the Wolf, although different.
