Just finished chapter 22. I’m so invested now. This makes ACOTAR look like complete garbage. High stakes, mystery, violence, badass FMC (I’ll keep saying it because it’s worth the call out). Can’t wait to keep going.

Fin ch41 before work today. Cain def was acting possessed so checks out now 🤣. Still not convinced Nehemia is a baddie but rather desperate to start rebellion maybe? Not sure yet. Kaltain plotting to kill Celaena for stealing her imaginary mans, hilarious. Fleetfoot 🐶🤍. Poor Chaol so sad about her dancing with Dorian 😩. Might finish it today, let’s see.

Fin: ch38. Elana giving tips for the poison trial. Cain acting creepy/possessed/who knows. Kaltain smoking opioids for headaches? Lmao. Nehemia sad about her people being killed. I knew she had something to do with the wyrd marks - mad shady. Dorian is a softy and hilarious so I love that. Celaena got these men in a chokehold. The Dark Lord?! The puppy omg 😭 “hunter and protector of the young” 🧐

Finished chapter 29, in the early few minutes of chapter 30. I’m hooked in. Celaena is the best FMC I’ve read in a long time. So hype that she smacked Varren in the spar. A brief glimpse into her capabilities. Really intrigued by the first Elaina encounter and where it will go from here. Feeling like world bending is coming to light a bit? Portals? Count me in. I love a good murder mystery 🧐

I say this every time someone picks up this series... If you think you like it now, JUST WAIT, it gets exponentially better the deeper into the series you go!

Everyone I talk to says that so I’m really excited to see what that actually means. I’m a sucker for action, combat, and straight up fantasy violence so give me more of that and I’m roped in 🤣🤣
We told you TOG was the ultimate 🤣♥️ what do you think of Kaltain? Any theories about these champions that are found dead? What do you think about Dorian and Chaol? I loved the competition of scaling the castle wall to get the flag and how Celaena saved Nox!
Kaltain is sus to me right now 👀 She reminds me of Ianthe (sp? Forgive me I listened to all of these) and I kinda wanna punch her 🤣.I feel like the champion deaths could be as simple as someone else in the champion group killing off competition (like Grave or Cain) - but that feels TOO easy??? It could also be someone like Dorian having them killed to slim the competition and ensure Celaena is the champion? - also feels like I don’t know the motive yet but a possibility. I’m trying to clock Dorian but not sure about him. Again, Idk what his motivations are so I gotta feel that out. He basically was described to look exactly like Rhys so I have to remember this series came first. So I see him as Rhys blueprint maybe? lol it’s funny how the dark hair blue eyed thing is def a fixation for SJM 🤣🤣
I love the dynamic between Celaena and Chaol. He kinda reminds me of Cassian so I’m cool with that. Funny but serious about his job / combat. I wanna see him smack people around ⚔️
Lol!! I like your comparison of Kaltain to Ianthe, she is SO SUS. It’s super interesting to hear you relate so many of the characters to the acotar ones because I also read acotar before TOG because I didn’t really relate any of them to each other, however SJMs other series Crescent city I feel like the characters are all terrible knock offs from tog or acotar 🤣 but now I’m going back and thinking about the characters in this book and trying to decide if I agree! But I was definitely flip flopping about Dorian and Chaol lol, I couldn’t decide how I felt about either of them!! You’re right about Chaol though he is super serious about his job
