Younger neighbor daughter was actual Crimson Jack. Her brother Martin was evil Crimson Jack. He stabbed girl he was seeing in back and did same to his brother when he tried (and failed) to protect the girl. He sent letters pretending to be each of them.

A ghost in the Keep has physically assaulted Poria multiple times. Ben is trying to stay with her to keep the ghost away. He goes off in night and she thinks he is in the ruined wing since the door is unbarred and propped open. She gets to the top where the ghost tries to push her off the edge of a balcony. Ben falls when the stairs to collapse while trying to rescue her. She has to get down and rescue him.
