Skyler Bunn’s Reviews > The Penguin Book of Japanese Short Stories > Status Update

This is a great collection for getting a glimpse into Japan’s history and culture from a variety of perspectives. It’s been a nice supplement to my recent obsession with Japanese movies. It is massively heavy, though, with lots of suicide, natural disaster, and WWII aftermath. I’ll return to it at some point.
