It zips along — perhaps a little too predictably — but what keeps me hooked is her. Our heroine is sharp, yes, but underneath? She’s all feeling and fierce loyalty. That tight grip on life — the need to manage, plan, pre-empt — feels alarmingly familiar (note to self: unpack that later). I expected a stereotype, got someone startlingly human instead. Plot aside, I see her. And oddly enough, I see myself too

Am taking a bit longer. Don’t know if it’s because I’m busy or it’s just not the escapism i usually like to read. It is all a bit the same tbh, Charlie and Nora circling around each other. It is beautifully written! Such a relatable way of describing feelings of wanting to be in control
