What an epilogue. I don't know what to think. This was the most unusual deviation that I've read in a while. The Lydia/Wickham story was so different. However, the struggle between Darcy and Elizabeth was too much. I wanted to shake Elizabeth and yet she stood valiant in her anger and frustration regarding Darcy. It isn't a wonder that Mr. Darcy didn't declare that she was simply too much work and walk away.

I don't know what to think. Where is the author going with the Wickham character? Can a leopard change his spots? I don't know how to deal with this guy. I am like Elizabeth now and am very confused with the behavior of Darcy and Wickham. She doesn't know what to think of them either.

The author actually had Wickham and Darcy talking. They discussed their upbringing and problems they each had. Wickham finally issued a bet [for a ha'penny] that he could maintain being the best man that he could be, before Darcy could overcome his haughty demeanor in lower society. Now where is this going?

The place was on fire and Darcy, Bingley and Wickham [yeah he's there] were valiantly trying to get everyone out of the house. The ball was in full swing and no one believed it was as bad as they were saying so they were taking their jolly good time getting out. Wickham actually was very heroic and saved Caroline's life. But was she grateful? What a stark raving b***h, selfish, self-serving, complaining...
