Just read an intense action scene. Kodiak narrowly escapes death by warbot. My theory is that the warbot received a signal from the middle of the lake (because the EMP dust has no effect there) which told the warbot to stand down. Kodiak thinks they have disengaged because the met their objective of killing Ambrose. I am choosing to believe that is a farse since we know the bacon Owl receives shows Ambrose.

He said the name of the book! Unfortunately, "The Brightness Between Us" refers to the nuclear explosion that kills the Ambrose and Kodiak back on Earth. While I am sad, they didn't get to live longer, in a poetic way, I am able to accept their death at this point. They needed to die in order for their future clones to live. I just wish they had more time.

I love, Love! I also love watching Kodiak and Ambrose fall in love with each other in their weird but difficult way. It is like they are taking the scenic route to happiness. But I understand why this character development is necessary. I also have to keep reminding myself that this Ambrose and Kodiak just met each other. They don't have the history that I read during Darkness.

Still reading the chapter, but I was tickled when Kodiak describes sending a beacon to the coordinated endeavor with instructions on how to get closer to his clone self. Very cute.

The author does a great job foreshadowing the events in his books. Kodiak and Ambrose have decided to send a message to their clones/future selfs with instructions on how they can build the tools to undo the damage that Devon has done. The puzzle of this book is starting to piece together.

I love Ambrose and Kodiak. They are who I want to be when I grow up. <3

We are back to reading about Earth Kodiak. One of the things that I appreciate the author doing in this book that he didn't in the last book was give Kodiak a perspective. Darkness was focused on Ambrose's point-of-view, and we do get some of that in this book, it is now Kodiak's time to shine. We finally get to understand his deep brut like nature even more in this book, which I love.

I have a glimmer of hope. Owl and Kodiak have found the beacon, and it is a message from the Earth Ambrose and Kodiak. My prediction is that they are warning the clone Ambrose and Kodiak of the dangers that Devon put on them.

Well, just when I think there can't be another twist... BAM! Devon has sabotaged all of the zygotes on the coordinated endeavor. This still explains Yarrow's behavior, but now I have to have the anxiety of reading how Owl and Kodiak escape the crazed Yarrow. So many feelings!

Well, I’m officially worried about Yarrow. Out of all the eggs chosen for gestation, Yarrows is selected. The person with an unknown psychosis that poses a serious threat to the rest of his family and the future of human life.
