Mon 060225 - 36 ORD Dining Table - Thoroughly enjoying this book. She’s written it in such an engaging & beautiful way. I enjoyed learning more about Angela Merkel (longstanding Chancellor for Germany) & Billie Jean King (phenomenal tennis star & champion for equality). These women come alive on the pages. I was so spent from 2.25 hours of yard work last night; loved savoring our time at the fire pit Larry & Me.

Thurs 061225 - 36 ORD Dining Table - YES, I’ve finished this as of reading the last chapter about Carrie Fisher, wow what a story! I’ve added a few of her books to my reading list. I’m so glad I picked this up at the library. It’s been an intriguing read. I’m excited to go to my Open Chair Sisterhood meeting this evening & and our trip this weekend to Michigan for Emily’s wedding starting tomorrow.

Thurs 061225 - 36 ORD Dining Table - Just read essays about Janis Joplin & Lena Dunham with Stitch resting in my lap for most of it. Just one more to go about Carrie Fischer. Had a good visit with Mom the last two days & she’s on her way home now. It’s a pretty day here & I’m enjoying having the windows open again. It’s going to be tight, but I’m still trying to finish before my women’s group tonight.

Thurs 061225 - 36 ORD Dining Table - I just finished reading the essay about Hillary Rodham Clinton, & have a lot more respect for her now as a difficult woman based upon what the author shared. She is infinitely more qualified to be our president than our current one; that doesn’t mean she’d be perfect. I only have 3 more essays to go & hope to finish this before going to my OCS women’s group dinner tonight.

Tues 061025 - 36 ORD Dining Table - Just 4 women left to read about before I finish. I enjoyed learning more about Diana Vreeland, Kay Thompson, & Laverne Cox. Had I not chosen this book I wouldn’t have sought out reading about these women individually. It’s been eye-opening & thought provoking to learn about each of them. Time for a gardening project this afternoon & anticipate Mom is visiting starting at 6 pm.

Mon 060925 - 36 ORD Dining Table now w/Stitch nestled & purring on my lap - I’m nearing the home stretch now. Just finished reading about Frida Kahlo & Nora Ephron. I love the way the author has brought all of the women to life through the art & especially her words in this book. Such depth for each & every one of them. I’ve been recommending this book to other women in my life. It is so worth reading!

Thurs 060525 - 36 ORD - I stayed home yesterday evening instead of going out in the heavy rains for a Democratic meeting. I relaxed w/the cats on the couch, read a lot & consumed some of the news for first time in a long while. I think I’m good now for at least a few weeks on that - ugh. Going to volunteer at Good Samaritan this morning w/my friend Kathy. Read about Elizabeth Warren & Margaret Cho last night. WOW

Weds 060425 - 36 ORD Cozy Green Couch - I relaxed & stayed home to read on the couch this evening rather than go downtown for a meeting since it was raining heavily earlier. Buzz & Stitch are both happy to be cuddled near & on me. Stitch is zonked across my lap. Larry is working Lowe’s tonight. I watched the news a bit as I read about Jane Goodall & Vita Sackville-West. Rain is gone & the birdsong is lovely.

Sun 060125 - 36 ORD Outside on Deck overlooking Lake Decatur to the west - I needed a good break from my 1.5 hours+ of intensive yard work, so I’ve enjoyed sitting on a lawn chair w/my feet up reading 2 more chapters & watching all the heavy boat & Seadoo traffic for awhile from up here. There’s a lovely breeze today. I learned more about Helen Gurley Brown & Edie Sedgwick w/my latest reading. Quite characters!

Sun 06125 - 36 ORD Dining Table - Just finished reading about Eva Peron while wrapping up breakfast. It’s a pretty day & I plan to head out to do some yard work now, focused on loose stone & stick clean-up yard keeping. Larry’s working at Lowe’s till 6 pm. We enjoyed our date yesterday afternoon to Springfield to see Mission Impossible Final Reckoning at IMAX & dinner at Azteca Mexican Restaurant. Sweet! :)
