These dumb MCs who wanna play hero make me roll my eyes. Simon is going to go pick up Tasha or whatever her name is, thinks about telling Vic, and decides no because the cops won't believe woo woo shit. You don't have to report to the cops officially. You can at least tell Vic where you're going and why, just so someone knows... and say there was a suspicious guy who gave her the creeps, not even mention her powers.

He's straight out mentioned Simon's cop boyfriend, but doesn't think that maybe he'd be looking for him or know where Simon went (well, Simon thinks that too, to be fair.. because he's also stupid) & be on his way with backup? Was going well, but they jumped into sex too quickly. The insta lust on both sides was frustrating, but at least the tension over the reading got in the way so they didn't jump straight into fucking. Also, why did the killer still attack when the girl wasn't alone? What happened to easy pickings? And what happened to his gun? And why does Simon still think assault can't be reported to the police, or at least to Vic?

Once again, too much sex, and these lines about this deep emotional connection that we saw zero development of. They've known each other for maybe a week, if that, and hardly spent any time together that hasn't been spent on sex.
The couple feels generic because they didn't actually develop. The sex scenes are super generic. Boring.
I swear you could cut the length of this book down by half (if not more) if you took out the sex and every mention of someone's dick twitching in their pants. Shut the fuck up.
