The chapter about the 1884 regime change was pretty exciting. Still unfortunately vague at times ("left-leaning"; "radical"; "voters opted for..."). What is meant by left? What is meant by radical as opposed to revolutionary? Who were the voters? This was a time when most Norwegians were disenfranchised, so why not unpack how the voters maintained a "meritocratic" system favoring elites? Sure merit was a dimension of electoral decisionmaking, but come on. That's reductive.
