Anthony Santiago Nooo. Kinda tragic to read about Kautsky's influence on social democrats in the Labour Party. Interesting to read about the election reforms. The authors emphasize that Norwegian political culture is peaceful and cooperative, from 1814 to 1884 to 1905 and to the interbellum. If I knew more about Gramsci, I might say something about cultural hegemony, but a part of me is impressed by the consensus-driven Storting (major political "sacrifices" from Venstre and Høyre, although a Marxist might question the extent that such political calculations are really sacrifices. Revolutionary socialism fizzled out and became at least a little bit "corporatist" by the mid-1930s).

Anthony Santiago Nazis are lame, and Quisling was somehow even more pathetic. Apparently the first instance of sabotage against the German occupation and the collaborationist regime was by communists (a bomb set off by during Quisling's inauguration). Go communists, and also the commercial sailors. Very amazing to read about their sacrifices serving the Allies and the government-in-exile.
