im so glad this author included in depth examinations about trans and disabled lesbians and how isolated they may feel around cis and able-bodied lesbians. i feel like in a lot of lesbian (non)fiction these people are not included or, if they are, very briefly as a way to say “hey i remember u exist”. i really appreciate their inclusion and the author’s undeniable support for them in her lesbianism.

oomf was wondering if the author dove into lesbians of color and to answer ur question, yes she does! she balances between explaining the struggles black & asian lesbians faced in white spaces and detailed the creation of their own inclusive spaces. she also addressed her white privilege in not facing discrimination but makes a call to action for white lesbians to address their discomfort & prejudice with race

Does it talk about poc and their experiences at all?

@lex a little bit. i’m not sure if it does later in the book; im at part 3 titled “community” so im hoping we get more. the author did dive into black lesbian organizations and their inclusion of other pocs but nothing super extensive
