One is pushed to their limits by poverty, we cannot dearly say that being poor is no excuse to be an asshole. Yet, we flaunt trends today like quiet luxury and simplicity as a trademark of tasteful wealth; as if that mimicry of poverty is only possible through that security of wealth. Perhaps, a person must find comfort outside material security, beyond physical health even, to be truly at peace.

On and off with this book cause of school but the murder of Alyona is one of the greatest chapters i’ve ever read; I even dreamt I was Raskolnikov committing the murder and then pondering the consequences and morality of it at one point because the Chapter was so good. Fyodor does such a good job proving Arendt and criticizing Kantian ethics. We cannot solely legislate the categorical imperative + ordinary evils.

clumsy sentences that are good the same way Jimmy Page was good. It just seems so honest and vulnerable, I love the awkward sentences that capture exactly how hard it is to think when you have anxiety
