I'm now into the final novel of this group of three, which opens with Qwill awakening in Pickaxe's hospital in confusion. Melinda Goodwinter, who was introduced in the previous book as firmly resistant to dating older men, is now his girlfriend...and his doctor. Clearly, medical ethics are not a consideration in her world, but that will be a later book, which I reread fairly recently.
