Gaia Moore was born without fear, which she has always resented. In a rooftop stunt however, she is recruited into the FBI, and is finally grateful for the mutation. She is doing well, and has just begun the practical applications training course, designed to be exactly like a real serial killer hunt. Gaia is determined to win, and says "I'm not going to make any more mistakes... I'm going to catch a killer,"(104).

On page 244, Gaia pulled through and won the Hogan's Alley practical applications course, which meant Gaia could rejoin the FBI after getting expelled, so that was vital. She was ecstatic, "and [she] actually hugged the actor playing 'Bill Oakley,' the 'killer,' as he was congratulating [her],"(245). After then being accepted to the agency full time, Gaia stumbles upon her first real murder and her new life begins.

On page 104, Gaia Moore is about to begin the FBI practical applications course, which is designed to be exactly like a real serial killer hunt. She is currently the top of her class, and she was born without fear, which should be a big advantage to her in this competition course. Determined to win, Gaia says "I'm not going to make any more mistakes... I'm going to catch a killer,"(104).
