Man lowkey what a load of bollocks this chapter was :/ I could completely relate to her describing of what medical trauma does to u when u suffer from a chronic illness but the coping tools referenced were a bunch of easy to suggest empty words to me I’m sorry. Some of us are actually mentally ill or neurodivergent medical trauma « aside » and that layer is absolutely ignored by her pov lol

Woah I knew pain management in the US was fucked but I didn’t know the full extent of it and I’m shocked and appalled on behalf of my fellow chronic illness sufferers from across the ocean the protocoles are beyond weird inadequate and ableist I have no words. also I find so much of the medical admin protocoles abroad super infantalizing like what do you mean your doctor sends scripts to the pharmacy for u and u can only pick it from that specific pharmacy?? same for referrals sounds practical on one hand yeah but on the other the lack of control over the direction and who gets to decide what abt ur care would freak me the fuck out
