I keep hearing great things about this book, and it was recommended by a friend for my 12 books recommended by friends challenge.
I don’t love this fact, but if this cover art had been the Spanish or Portuguese cover art, I probably would’ve read it sooner. The colors used don’t pull me in or make me curious. They made me think it was a melancholy story.

I’m still really struggling with the pacing. I think I’m failing to connect with the characters too. I like the grandmother.

This was a sluggish start for me, opening with the passing & funeral of our MC’s grandmother. The pace & intrigue picked up around 20-30% in.

This one took me much longer than expected (considering the good things I'd heard) to get into.
