Bogart, a principled American dragged through the mud by the Right-Wing HUAC fascists, forced to recant his rights by his own studio at peril to his family and reputation. Same shit today. Fuck ya'll who've supported authoritarian lawbreakers, esp. the asshole in the White House.

Quite an eventful last few chapters, the final fury of the Bogie-Methot breakup, the marriage to Bacall, the tortured production of The Big Sleep, Bogie's forays into left-wing politics. My dude is woke as fuck. Great bio. Proceeding apace!
