maybe one of the hardest things i’ve read in quite some time, absolutely harrowing. reminds me of the movie “i’m not here” in the way it depicts the simultaneous horror and human connection under a military regime, except this one does not shy away from depicting the very real violence that took place and wow it is not easy to read by any means, i want to finish it but i keep having to put it down

there's this line "i felt the blood of a hundred thousand hearts surging together into one enormous artery, fresh and clean ... the sublime enormity of a single heart, pulsing blood through that vessel and into my own.
[...]
that sublime feeling that i'd been tapping into, that enormous heart i'd felt briefly part of, was smashed to pieces, strewn over the ground as so much rubbish"
that's pretty much how it feels... i hope u pick it up again !! when ur not busy being a #real cinephile
Im going to have to look at my incredibly busy schedule of bedrotting, movies and games to see when i can read this book 🤓👆👆Nah but for real, i think ive read the first 40ish pages and remember being hooked. Like holy crap man, the early pages are so visceral!! I remember there was this incredibly disturbing description of a rotting corpse of a woman that the protagonist had to try and identify, chills man.
What the heck, did it cut my comment? Rest of it meant to say:
protagonist had to try and identify for someone
