Really good so far, but I wish I didn't know this book was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's Notorious. No matter how they're described, I keep seeing the characters as Ingrid Bergman, Cary Grant, Claude Rains, and Louis Calhern.
Cary and Ingrid never had scenes as blatantly steamy as these, though. *fans self*

The hero and heroine in this book have both done so many stupid things that at the moment I feel like punching them both in the face. DEAR LORD, JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER. Feeling a little irritated, to be honest. Gaffney is a wonderful writer, but she's created a couple of numbskulls here. Fix it Jesus, my star rating is going down by the page.

The initial premise of the story is a lot like Notorious, but it's taken some turns that are very different. I was able to get Hitchcock's cast out of my head, and I'm very curious about where the plot will go from here.
I love Patricia Gaffney's writing so much. It's so good and so much my cup of tea that reading her books is just plain comforting. :)
