it's growing on me despite the frequent obscure-word-from-a-thesaurus type word choice & semi-frequent cliché dialogue. the plot is fun & the characters are all hot for some reason lol

figured out how to articulate the issue i have here: the prose oscillates between extremely concrete & extremely abstract. i don't mean conceptually though. just sometimes material things/actions/scenes/situations are described as if they're metaphor. i can't see like a third of it

having some serious stylistic struggles with this. enjoying the tone & character dynamics a lot but this is like... distant future hard sci fi written with the stylistic ambiguity of literary spec fic. i think i could use a little more telling amidst the showing for once in my life which is never a take i have
