The pacing issue is real

It's picking up speed again and is very enjoyable.

I take it back. The language has its own charm, you just need to read this in a quiet place and really allow yourself to enjoy the slang of yesteryear.

The mystery is intriguing enough, but the characters' talk is so excessive - entire paragraphs to express a simple idea.

Plus, Mrs Newland asks not to be a part of this and to remain unknown to the police investigators.
2. David turns up on a man that looks awfully like a shorter slightly older version of the dead body and follows him dropping off a parcel at a luxury good store.
3. Mrs Meake's daughter Thelma hasn't been seen around the house througu the night of the murder.

1. Mrs Newland, the pub, had seen a strange sailor-type Southernn European man hanging out at the pub on the eve of the murder, selling odd things like beads and a partocularly memorable handled knife which waa 14 inches long ans had a copper handlebar with feather-like decorations.
