I think the mysteries in this book are much better, with more satisfying and thrilling resolutions than the first book. Also, since I knew what to what to expect in terms of the structure, it was easier to get into.

Pausing at the Atticus Pund intro, I am way more into this story already than I was in the first. I think it’s benefitting from being used to the book-within-a-book structure from Magpie Murders and I’m glad Susan is getting a larger presence in this novel so far.
