Status Update

Fergus Nm is on page 150 of 496

Closer to Wolf Solent's protagonist-focus, as opposed to the polyphony of A Glastonbury Romance (and to a lesser extent, Weymouth Sands). I understand that this one is seen as the runt of the Dorset novels, but I'm enjoying it thoroughly - something about Powys' writing is very comforting to me, even when he's getting bizarre.

Definitely noticed the tonal shift from the start of the chapter "Lovie", turning the narrative focus to Wizzie and her thoughts. I think I read somewhere that this is likely due to the suggestion from (or even from the pen of!) JCP's partner Phyllis Playter.
