I’m re-reading the book rn and around the first big reveal at the 30% mark I’m realizing I already forgot how extremely weird the plan to hook up Winden with Dante was, like why was that so explicitly plotted in advance (in-story), not to mention that their actual friendship is extremely cute and I guess it would be a different story if they truly had ended up hitting it off, but I feel like Dante literally had more chemistry with the damn Lich than her and that crazy old guy is just standing there clinging to his last lie like “no no this is gonna work, Winden’s obvious lack of attraction to this man who is also not interested in her at all and her rapidly declining investment in helping maintain the lie is gonna totally win him over to help me seal the deal”

^^^ And this is BEFORE he finds out that she’s technically his adoptive sister

Also, it’s occurred to me that there’s a lot of subtle groundwork for Naran and Twill’s crew’s loyalty to her, plus why Dante liked her a lot as a person despite her only being present in the story for a short time — she answered ALL his questions with such good temperament despite being busy lol

Earliest Gladdic appearance is extremely fun

I remembered this death scene being traumatic but damn
