I was expecting them to go home and either find that district 12 is completely destroyed or something is very wrong. But instead we don’t even see home by the end of the book.
I’m also a bit concerned about book 2. I really hope it’s more than just a weird love book with some tension between District 12 and the Capitol.

Or if I had just read it in 5th grade. Oh well. Hopefully I’ll have better luck with the next book. I do rate this one 5 stars but they’re very imperfect stars. I am glad I read it though.

Overall I did really enjoy this book. But unfortunately it wasn’t the book I was hoping it would be. I really thought it would be almost perfect and it would be hard to find anything I dislike about it. I was also hoping to heavily tab this book but oh well.
It’s good but has some problems. If I went into this knowing nothing and not expecting anything I think it definitely would’ve been a favorite.

Katniss & Peeta. And I know the only reason she went along with it is because it was the only way to survive the Games. But I kinda wish it was never a thing to begin with and that the book would’ve taken a different approach.
I also didn’t like the ending. It was pretty weak. It basically ends with Peeta being heartbroken about Katniss’s confession and Katniss being anxious about going home.

It’s all for the viewers. Except for the part at the end where we find out Peeta was actually in love the whole time.
I feel like The Hunger Games isn’t the type of book that should have a love story, or worse, a love triangle. We have wayyy bigger problems to worry about than your love situation. This is why I’m not very fond of part 3 in the book. I think it focuses to heavily on the situation-ship between

It was kinda just there. The writing didn’t give me anything. It felt like it was written by an amateur. Along with all the grammar mistakes the writing wasn’t very good. The story heavily carried.
I also didn’t like the weird love dynamic between Katniss and Peeta. Literally all of it made me feel uncomfortable. It’s because in Katniss’s POV everything is fabricated. They’re not actually in love,

Well for starters, there’s a surprising amount of grammar mistakes in here. And sentences that were structured poorly. I don’t find that too often in books so I was a bit shocked. This book definitely needed a better editor. I think the writing was something that I just didn’t like about the book in general. I was kinda hoping for beautiful writing that would bring a tear to your eye. But… no.

I also really liked in part 2 when the hunger games began.
Another thing I loved was the inclusion of birds and how often they were mentioned. I also thought the mutations were interesting. It’s revolting that they exist but that definitely wasn’t something I expected to see in here.
So that’s everything liked about the book, but what didn’t I like?

and I think the craziest part is that it’s entirely plausible.
Anyway I really liked that aspect of the book and the story was pretty great too. The book is split into 3 parts and my favorites are part 1&2. I really like the part after the reaping where Katniss is transported to the Capitol and dresses up and goes to the training center. I forgot to mention but Cinna is another one of my favorite characters.

It still takes the anticipation out of the book. Which sucks even more for this book because anticipation is a pretty big part of it. But besides that I think it’s really interesting that the entirety of North America fell and became Panem. It also mentions that global warming has drastically increased water levels and a lot of the land is now underwater. Yeah the world is very scary but also interesting

It’s refreshing and I was genuinely interested in her character. I also really liked Gale.
Something else I loved was the world they built and the story itself. Now I will say that sometimes the story did feel really predictable which I really don’t like. I hate when I feel like I already know what’s going to happen cause then I’m just waiting the whole book for it to happen. Even if I end up being wrong,
