Life should have felt great. I had just turned thirty-four and was hanging out on a rung near the top of the corporate ladder. But it started to dawn on me that my ladder was leaning against the wrong wall. How did this happen? One question swirled in my head and finally fell onto the page:
Whose dream life am I living? Because it's certainly not mine.

This memoir is lovely so far. I want to go to Europe right now. Like, right this second. Most of all, I want to somehow overhaul my sad, corporate drone lifestyle. (She says, as she types this from her desk at the start of a 10-hour workday.)
