Oh god. Has anyone realized what kind of month March will be? I mean it's like every book I've been frantically awaiting comes out either the 6th or the 27th.

Jan I mean seriously, look at these books:
Fair Game (Alpha & Omega, #3) by Patricia Briggs Sacrificial Magic (Downside Ghosts, #4) by Stacia Kane Intruder by C.J. Cherryh Crucible Of Gold by Naomi Novik At Your Pleasure by Meredith Duran Bear Meets Girl (Pride, #7) by Shelly Laurenston

How will I pay for them all? And how on earth am I supposed to pick which one to read first?

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

sacrificial magic

*dies*

Wicked Incognito Now Ooooooo.....I'll definitely be reading the Briggs (although I'm not in love with the Alpha and Omega series) and the Kane (WOOOOO!) and the Duran.

new_user Hmm, is the third AO still about Anna and Charles? I haven't read the second one yet.

message 5: by Jan (new)

Jan Yeah the third one is still about them. I love that about those books, that they are about an evolving relationship.

I think I'm most excited about the Stacia Kane (TERRIBLESQUEEE), the CJ Cherryh (really good anthropological/political sci-fi series) and the Briggs, but I was really looking forward to the others as well, and I'm a little bummed they all come out in the same month.

Remember last year when Magic Slays and Kiss of Snow came out on the same day? I was freaking out about that, but in the end I was disappointed by both of them. I don't want that this time!

new_user Hmmm. I don't know if I liked Cry Wolf enough to read the rest. But now you really have me interested in the Cherryh. Anthropological/political scifi? I'm in.

I agree though. I've been disappointed by a lot of series installments. :/

Jan Cherryh is an amazing author, I'm really aiming to read everything by her. She doesn't pull punches either, the Foreigner series is so heavy on the anthropology (or alienthology) and politics that I really only understood what actually happened in the first book when I was a few books into the series.

Her aliens are very, very alien, and consistent in that.

the thing is, if a lot of books you've been looking forward to become available on the same day, your attention gets sort of divided, and you can't really savor the experience.

message 8: by new_user (new)

new_user Even when I intend to, I never seem to be able to read books the day they release. It just never works out! LOL.

Intrigued by the aliens. <3 them. Are they LIs, by any chance?

Jan LI???

message 10: by new_user (new)

new_user Love interest! :D

message 11: by Jan (new)

Jan *smackleheads* I knew that :p

The answer is yes and no, mostly because the aliens don't understand the concept of love, they have a totally different emotional wiring. But there's an overarching story-line of the relationship Bren builds with his alien Aishid.

I wouldn't think of it as romantic sci-fi though.

SubterraneanCatalyst I say you close your eyes and pick one out randomly- then you can enjoy the book you have thoroughly and purchase the others on a time release plan :].

Screw that, focus on teh Kane.

TERRRRRRIBLE!!! I'm comin for ya baby.

message 14: by Jan (new)

Jan I can't see myself sitting around not reading about Terrible and Chess either :)

I'm pretty sure I'll end up getting them all anyway. Except maybe for the Duran because that's a stand on its own.

After all, who needs food when you can buy books??
