It's funny how in so many M/M books the father of one of the characters was a complete ass and the mom was always wonderful. If the mom was so wonderful why did she stay with the awful dad then?

He leaned close, until his mouth was inches from David’s ear. “I like it,” he whispered.
“Almost as much as I like you.”
David bit his lip, his heart pounding. “I like you too.”

I can’t believe how much feeling there is in such a simple declaration.
I’m loving this.
