Why is this author so OBSESSED with rape? Losing points here regardless of the otherwise good writing.

Here we go again! I don't actually remember much of this second book so I'll admit, the starting off with Roger Wakefield as our primary focus threw me. As did the choice to only go first person when it's Claire's perspective.
