‘Like so many Americans, she was trying to construct a life that made sense from things she found in gift shops.’

Sitting on a hill watching fireworks. Surrounded by people all in little pockets of their own realities. It’s like a zoo but I’m in a cage observing the people walking by.

I’m learning about myself that I really just need a re-read. Every great book I’ve read has been SO much better the second time

I intended to start the brothers Karamazov, but got intimidated. I had this book in my backpack, and started the reread.

I look around me and am constantly surrounded by reminders of the people I’ve lost, mostly from my own actions. I have struggled with these thoughts and reminders: shame, sadness, grief.

And yet I’m grateful for every person I’ve hurt and who has hurt me. And give myself grace despite it.<3
