This is a book that was covered in one of my classes in my first semester. We only read an excerpt of it for class, and I found that I could not name more than a handful of female artists. The intro carries a good amount of nuance and Hessel iterates that there are so many more facets that go into art than being a woman, and that this book is simply recognition where it has lacked
