sigh my work requires just enough brain power that I miss things if I audiobook

I’m like kinda mad we moved up a floor because I finally was invested in the baths and now I have to grow to care about whatever is gonna be the thing up here

It is a little odd that we as the reader have very little stake in caring about Mayra? by that I mean like we have to buy in to Senlin’s love for her rather than develop much love for her ourselves. it’s why I feel like im spending the whole story waiting for the other shoe to drop in whatever situation is going on here
