I'd read the first two Shadow books years ago, and I remember virtually nothing from book 2. I'm really enjoying them.

Same situation with the Ender series. I remembered absolutely nothing from Speaker for the Dead, but I loved it when I re-read it a few weeks ago. Now I'm in Xenocide at the same time as the Shadow books.

Nice! I've traveled both paths a couple times, and the second time through Bean's books I declared his story line and character to be superior. Thus I have spoken. What say you?
Judah just finished Ender's Shadow and said he loved it. One of my prouder moments as a parent.

I'm getting a little tired of Bean's analytics, but not enough to stop reading--the stories are still great.

I was surprised at how much I liked "Speaker for the Dead" the second time through. The tone is so totally different from Ender's Game and the Shadow Series, which have a more YA feel (not a criticism). I really enjoyed the philosophical and anthropological/ethnographic engagement.
