This is such a a well written adventure story! I am loving this. I also realized this is my second book by this author... And wow, what a cliffhanger just now... The main characters in here are truly suffering.

Pear Blossom and the other other boys remind me of the horrible bullies we have today. Sandstone is correct when he states that there is something wrong with them.

Imagine the fear and great confusion of seeing armored warriors on horseback for the first time in your life - and you never saw a horse before. The jingle of harness, the thunder of the hooves...

I am enjoying this but their lives are about to change in a major way.

This story is off to a good start and I am learning several words in the Taino language. It seems that tradition is clashing with the new fancy items that the Spanish bring - items that are outlawed in the village. Very interesting story so far.
