I am only about a 1/4 of the way through this MG speculative novel, but I am loving it so far. I do wonder how many students are drawn to novels like this.I love it because I find the craft beautiful and the message touching, but many of my students read fast-paced murder mysteries, dramatic romances, and action-packed sports stories. How and where does this sort of writing fit into the classroom? As a read aloud?
