This book is memoir rather than a story. There is not real plot to speak of. More like a description of the people and the lives they led at that time. It’s bringing us up to modern day in a slow winding way. It’s beautifully written with poetic use of literary writing. I think k I will end up giving it a 3 because I like a plot.

I finished this book quickly. However it had big print and was a hard back. My comments above stand that it is more of a memoir than a novel and the “plot” was more of a history of a people or clan and then within that a family. I actually think I have read it before but not recorded it on Goodreads. I feel like I need to read something with a really good plot now. ☺️
